A grade 3 meningioma, also called an anaplastic or malignant meningioma, is a rare and aggressive type of brain tumor that arises from the meninges—the protective membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

⚠️ Key Features:

Highly aggressive and fast-growing
Often invades nearby brain tissue
High recurrence rate, even after treatment
Can arise de novo or evolve from a lower-grade meningioma (grade 1 or 2)
Classified as WHO grade 3, the most severe form

🧬 Histological Characteristics:

High mitotic index (rapid cell division)
Cellular atypia and pleomorphism (abnormal-looking cells)
Necrosis may be present
Brain invasion is common
